FAQ

What can I expect at my first appointment?

After registering at the front desk, medical staff will review your history and assess your basic health information. We will frequently get updated x-rays on site. Next, a provider, usually one of our physician assistants, will review your x-ray images and discuss your injury with you in order to get the best plan of care toward healing - including non-operative or surgical treatments.

Is this a walk-in or urgent care clinic?

No, we require a scheduled appointment. We are not staffed or set up for drop ins. If you are having an emergency, please seek immediate care at an emergency or urgent care facility.

Is my visit or surgery covered by insurance?

Our providers are in network with most of the major insurance carriers. However, each insurance company has countless nuances of what is covered, dollar amounts, and types of visits. Please always check with your insurance company for the specifics of your plan before any visits. We also advise that you check to see how much of your deductible or out of pocket has been met, in addition to any co-insurance or co-payments that will be due at the time of your office visit.

Is a referral required to see you?

We review each patient before their first visit. A thorough review is usually best achieved through a referral from another provider. However, if you are unable to get one, we do need some images and a note from your initial evaluation. This is to ensure we are the right specialist office. We do not want to waste your time with unnecessary appointments during an important time in your healing.

Can I get a medication prescription or refill before my first appointment?

In order to provide the best form of care, we will need to see you in our office or hospital to assess your needs before we can prescribe any medications. Also note that we do not carry any medications in our office, so please come to your appointment prepared.

What do I do if I have additional questions after my visit?

It is a great idea to prepare questions beforehand and take notes during your appointment. It can be hard to remember everything that was discussed. Sometimes, more questions come to mind after your appointment. We understand that! Please call our office. If we do not pick up, it is because we are busy. Please leave a voicemail and refrain from repeated calls. That really slows us down. We DO check voicemail regularly and return calls as soon as we are able. Additionally, we ask that you expect follow-up phone calls should be brief. If you need an extended period of time, we may need to book you an additional appointment. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible with your treatment plan.
